Just another day

Opening my eyes

To the changing colours of the sky

Slowly taking it in

The calm before the storm

They say

And so it is

For my to-do list

Then takes hold of the reins

In my mind

The aroma of the coffee

Easing the transition

I write

A few pages of diary

Just to let it be known

Someplace

That this day was lived

And so will the rest.
